erythrium

Erythrium is potentially the most important resource of 2041. It contains huge amounts of clean energy, making it theoretically possible to create small generators that can power a small village or large city block. This is important news for a splintered world in energy crisis. Researchers are still learning the mysteries of Erythrium, and there is a lot more to discover.

sao paulo incident

A huge explosion at the Sao Paulo atomic collider facility causes the release of low fog of positively charged electrons that quickly spread across the world. The cloud eventually disappeared and the event was mostly forgotten.
Only later was it discovered that the unusual super-charged electrons in the fog had in fact penetrated the earth's crust and produced crystals of a new element that had not existed previously. Secret experiments by a small group of Bolivian scientists showed that the new crystals, named Erythrium, could be refined to yield large quantities of energy products. These new substances can substitute for both petrochemical fuels and sustainable energy sources. Other unusual effects and powers of the new crystals are also expected to be discovered.
It is considered by some that the cloud somehow changed the crystalline structure of the common mineral Erytrite, and changed it into the new element Erythrium, however the scientific community remains deeply polarised on this. News reports covered the event for a few days until more interesting news popped up on the agenda. All records about the recent experiments in Sao Paulo have since gone missing. There are still many questions lingering about the Sao Paulo incident. Unfortunately, almost everyone who could answer them is dead or missing.

erythrium types

Currently the UltraHorse scientists know of two active types of Erythrium: Red and Blue. Blue Erythrium becomes inert soon after emerging and coming in contact with the atmosphere. For this reason the crystals must be harvested soon after their emergence and delivered quickly to the Towers processing facility before they lose their valuable properties.

Red Erythrium emerges in a violent manner, and the formation of the large crystals can be dangerous to people and structures nearby. The emerging Red Erythrium core develops a jagged form with a variety of branches that pierce structures and other obstacles they encounter as they grow upwards rapidly.

There are also byproducts of both forms:. Red Erythrium Gas is a poisonous gas that is deadly even after a short exposure. Inert Erythrium is Blue Erythrium that has lost all of its properties and become inactive and valuable only for decorative uses.
