Update 0.9.18.0

Hey Fighters!

Summer’s heating up, and so have we! We've been cooking up a chunky update ready to go, so expect brand new guns, a massive rebalance, matchmaking improvements, a major Summer event, and plenty more are all on the way.

We’re sure you guys are eager beavers wanting to know what’s coming in this update, let’s break it all down:

New Guns

See-Saw - Raymor

Think of the See-Saw as a boomerang with an attitude. Its projectile travels back and forth multiple times, piercing through enemies every pass. Keep in mind where you fire it though, because if it clips a surface before reaching full range, it'll stick there instead.

Shield Snake - Muller Waffe

The Shield Snake is perfect for getting right in your opponent's face. It tears through enemy armor with ease, leaving them exposed, and if they don't have any armor left, it gets redirected to you instead, giving you a handy armor boost. Just don't get too carried away though, its short range and small magazine makes this weapon very situational depending on your positioning.

Firewall - Zhang

Firewall lets you lock down areas by firing a canister that sticks to surfaces and deploys a fire nozzle on impact. It sprays flames that damage enemies over time and sets them on fire, while your teammates can safely walk through without getting burned. Just try not to hit enemies directly, as the canister will break on impact and only deal a small amount of damage instead of unleashing its fiery payload!

Rebalance

After digging through a mountain of your feedback (and surviving the journey), we've made loads of changes to fighters and weapons across the board. We know there's still plenty more to do, but this is just the beginning and we hope these changes make SB even more enjoyable. The meta's probably going to be a little confused for a while, so jump in, try everything out, break the old strategies, and let us know what feels good (or horribly OP). We'll be keeping a close eye on your feedback for the next balance pass.

  • CTF - Seaporch, MütherLode

  • KotH - Underfoot

Removed

  • Sawmill

  • Volcano

  • Picnic in the Meadow

Major Summer Event

We've been hiding our next Summer event in the basement so nobody leaks it early. It's jam packed with rewards, cool surprises, and a few things we’re still keeping secret, but you'll have to survive one more week before we finally throw open the doors and show you what's inside.

Fashion Rarity

We've gone ahead and made fashion a little more dramatic. Every hat now has its own rarity grade, because apparently looking cool wasn't competitive enough already. Existing items may have been upgraded depending on how the rarity shake up landed. You could be sitting on a wardrobe full of hidden gems or the total opposite.

New Weapon Collection

The Insane Asylum skin collection is now craftable through the Champion Token recipe! Just keep in mind that there's a low probability of obtaining one each time you craft, so don't be surprised if they take a while to show up.

Facelifts and Renamed Items

Some of our older items were starting to show their age, so we treated them to a bit of a revamp. A bunch of visuals have been refreshed, a few item names have been cleaned up, and everything should now feel a lot more at home alongside the newer content. More makeovers are still on the way!
