Hot Summer Update!
Hey Fighters!
Summer’s heating up and so is SquadBlast! The new content update just dropped and it’s loaded. We’re talking 2 fresh maps, a higher level cap, more rewards to chase, fighter and weapon balance tweaks, and a whole lot more.
So grab your shades, stay hydrated, and let’s dive into everything coming your way:
New Maps
Crossroads - With this map, you're smack in the middle of a city skyline, with half-built towers, scaffolding everywhere, and cranes looming in the background to give you additional height advantage and great for surprise attacks!
Corndog - We’ve got it all on this farm, classic red barns, a silo, and wide open dirt paths ready for pandemonium. It gives you that peaceful countryside atmosphere, until you reach the open centre of the map greeted by narrow choke points and awkward slopes which only the best movement specialists can take full advantage of!
Level Cap Increased
The level cap has been raised by 10, allowing players to reach up to level 90! If your EXP was previously trimmed, you'll receive a special "Overachiever" avatar to showcase your dedication. And for the first player to hit level 90...something special awaits!
Gameplay Changes
Armor regeneration rate has been increased to double its original rate
Re-spawn time changed from 15 sec to 13 sec
Fighter Changes
Laika’s COUNTERPART ability has been improved with Almerk’s Freeze-Tech module. Now when a clone is destroyed it will explode into a Freeze Cloud, encasing any would-be fighters who got easily fooled into a block of ice. Better watch out for those clones now!
Hantu's SHADOW WALK got some serious ups now, while invisible, he can jump way higher than before. While invisible he also regenerates his health at a moderate rate. Perfect for pulling off those sneaky plays or surprise attacks from outta nowhere
Paavo’s GUARDIAN SHIELD gets additional armor while his shield’s up. And it’s not just for him! Anyone on the team chillin’ inside the shield gets that bonus too
Sonny’s LITTLE HELPERS packin’ double trouble now, he can deploy two turrets preloaded instead of just one. That means more firepower, more map control, and way more headaches for the other team
Nigel’s CARETAKER ability cooldown’s now 15 sec (used to be 10), and the duration’s down to 5 sec instead of 10. Also if you get hit with freeze or shock while it’s active, it’ll cancel out. But the silver lining is that his ability can now over-heal
Arx’s EXO-SUIT rockets just got beefier and are now 50% bigger than before
Additionally, all fighters that used Roll to dodge have the speed increased by 25%, so you can zoom around like you’ve got places to be and bullets to dodge
Weapon Changes
Shotguns have been improved and re-balanced, hitting harder, cleaner and way more fun to use:
NumbRNine can now stun enemies
Frenzy now dishes out 2x more burning damage, so anyone you hit is gonna feel the heat
Mule is more precise than ever with 50% less spread and 20% longer range
Tyrant now has 10% lower spread, and 16.67% damage increase, easier to tackle against line-ups with big stacks
Bug Fixes
Interact/PickUp button doesn’t get active for touch controls when you can’t actually interact with the object to pick up a weapon
Mini-map fixes
Bots can now use sprint, dash, and roll abilities
Fixed a bug where experience was accumulating post the maximum level cap number, now once a player reaches max level, they will stop receiving experience from battle. In future patches, once max level is reached, the number will change to “Max Level” message

Changes After PTS
Huge thanks to everyone who dropped feedback or reported bugs during the Summer PTS! Your input seriously helped us fine tune things. Here’s what we’ve tweaked since then:
- Corndog now has a slightly darker background to help chat become more visible
- Those barn doors on Corndog? Yep, they’re gone, to stop transition to different views
- If you’re tired of getting spawn trapped, that’s fine, we’ve added safe rooms at the top of the barn
- Raised the walls on both sides of Corndog to help you bounce around like a pro
- Nigel’s ability cooldown reduced from 15 to 11
- Sonny ability is going to be taking a nap and will be released in a future update
- Paavo bonus armor regeneration has been nerfed, reduced by 50%
- No more moon jumps from Hantu, ability reduced by 30%
- Frenzy’s fire effect damaged increased by 20%
- Hellsing damage increased by 14%
- Laser gate hitboxes on the right side of Cable has been fixed
- Rocket Launcher knockback force increased, damage received from your own rocket decreased down to 50%
- You can now be sneaky in the cover spots on Cable. No more peeking them on the minimap or seeing stray limbs
